Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have a hard time saying something is the best because we all have different preferences when it comes to the classics BUT these are pretty damn good. We had a bunch of family in town for my son’s first birthday so I stocked up my cookie jar with these and these got eaten up DURING the party. They weren’t even with the party food, they were hiding in the cookie jar on the counter and still got demolished. Just saying. Test them out and let me know what you think, I promise I won’t be offended if you dislike it!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

3 cups AP Flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cream of tartar

2 cups chocolate chips (I like using semi chocolate chips in regular AND mini for extra chocolatey goodness but have also made it with other flavored chips and they were so good)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream butter until light and fluffy (about 4 minutes, should appear lighter in color)
  • Scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl and add in the sugars. Cream together until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add in vanilla
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients and then add it to the creamed mixture.
  • Fold in chocolate.
  • Using a cookie scooper, scoop about 1 inch balls about 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet (ideal for easier clean up but you can use an ungreased baking sheet).
  • Bake for about 12 minutes, until the edges are light brown. Let it sit on the baking sheet for about 1-2 minutes and then transfer to wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Enjoy and TRY not to eat them all in one sitting!

Pictured below are the cookies I made with sea salt caramel chips. YUM!
